# An OpenCode GUI for everyday work

**The short answer:** AppuBot can be a GUI for OpenCode: install OpenCode, connect the AI providers you use in it once, and pick OpenCode for a bot. The bot then runs on whichever models you connected, from a ChatGPT or Copilot sign-in to OpenCode's own Go plan, and AppuBot adds computer use in any app, Telegram, voice, memory, routines and approvals.

## What is OpenCode?

OpenCode calls itself the open source AI coding agent. It runs in the terminal, in code editors and in a desktop app of its own, and works with more than 75 AI providers, including local models, through one interface.

That flexibility is the reason to use it in AppuBot: one agent, any model you can reach. The bot gets a name, a job and memory; OpenCode brings the models.

## Which plan does OpenCode use?

Whichever you connect in OpenCode. Its docs describe signing in with **GitHub Copilot** or a **ChatGPT Plus/Pro** account, using API keys for other providers, and two optional plans of OpenCode's own: **Zen**, pay-as-you-go access to models the OpenCode team has tested, and **Go**, a subscription to open coding models at $10 a month (Go Plus $40).

One thing to know: OpenCode's docs say Anthropic doesn't allow Claude Pro or Max subscriptions in OpenCode. If you have a Claude plan, use [Claude Code in AppuBot](https://appubot.com/agents/claude-code) for it.

## How do I set up OpenCode in AppuBot?

1. [Download AppuBot](https://appubot.com/download) and open it.
2. Install OpenCode (Settings › Agents shows the installer when it's missing).
3. Open OpenCode once and connect the providers you want, for example your ChatGPT or Copilot account.
4. AppuBot finds OpenCode and lists it as ready. Pick it for a bot; the model list shows what you connected.
5. Choose "Approve for me" or "Full access" for that bot.

## What does AppuBot add on top of OpenCode?

## Questions

### Can I use my Claude subscription with OpenCode in AppuBot?

No. OpenCode's docs say Anthropic doesn't allow Claude subscriptions there; pick Claude Code for a bot instead and it uses your Claude plan.

### Can an OpenCode bot use a local model?

Yes, if you set one up in OpenCode. AppuBot shows whatever models OpenCode offers.

### Can different bots use different OpenCode models?

Yes. Each bot picks its own model from what OpenCode offers, so one can run on your ChatGPT sign-in and another on a model from OpenCode Go.

### Do I need OpenCode Zen or Go?

No. They are optional; a ChatGPT, Copilot or API key sign-in in OpenCode is enough.

### Does OpenCode in AppuBot need its own account?
