**The short answer:** An AppuBot bot connected to Microsoft Teams can catch you up on chats and channels, find past messages and draft replies or posts. With "Approve for me" it asks before it sends a message. Reading and searching do not need approval.

## What can a bot do in Microsoft Teams?

Teams collects chats, channels and meetings in one place, and the volume adds up. A bot can read what you missed and propose what to say.

- **Catch you up.** Summarise a channel or a chat after a day away.
- **Find messages.** Locate who mentioned a deadline or shared a file.
- **Draft replies.** Write an answer for you to approve before it goes out.
- **Post updates.** Send a status note to a channel after you approve the text.
- **Pull action items.** List commitments made in a chat and who owns them.
- **Prepare for meetings.** Gather the recent chat on a topic before a call.

## What can you ask a bot to do in Microsoft Teams?

These are the kinds of requests that work well. Type them in the app, or send them from your phone on Telegram.

- "Summarise what happened in the Project Atlas channel today."
- "Who shared the pricing file last week?"
- "Draft a reply to the vendor chat saying we need the quote by Friday."
- "List action items from yesterday's planning chat."
- "What did I miss in the Support channel overnight?"

## How do you connect Microsoft Teams to AppuBot?

1. Open AppuBot on your computer.
2. Click **Connect apps** in the sidebar to open the Apps page.
3. Sign in once in your browser. This links AppuBot to your own account for connected apps, and you only do it the first time.
4. Find Microsoft Teams on the page and connect it. Your browser opens Microsoft Teams's own sign-in and consent screen, and you approve it there.
5. Switch Microsoft Teams on for the bots that may use it. Each bot has its own switch, so a bot you did not choose never touches it.

_The same Apps page lists about 1,700 other apps. Connecting one app once makes it available to every bot you allow._

## Will it ask before it changes things in Microsoft Teams?

Posting in Teams is visible to your colleagues, so on "Approve for me" the bot shows you the message and where it goes before it sends. Reading chats and searching go ahead.

This follows the bot's permission choice. On "Approve for me" the bot asks before it acts in your account, and it waits as long as you take. Reads and searches go ahead without a question. On "Full access" it acts without asking, so keep that for bots you trust with the app. More in [Approvals](https://appubot.com/features/approvals).

## What should you know before relying on a bot in Microsoft Teams?

A bot works through your own Microsoft Teams account, so it can do what that account can do and nothing more. If a task fails, it tells you why in the chat instead of guessing.

Be specific about which project, folder, list or account you mean when you have several, and say once what the bot should never touch. You can save that in its [memory](https://appubot.com/features/memory) so it applies to every chat. AppuBot is free during early access and needs no AppuBot account, and you keep using the AI plan you already have.

## Which routines suit Microsoft Teams?

Teams activity piles up each day, so a [routine](https://appubot.com/features/routines) fits.

- **Morning catch-up.** Weekdays, summarise key channels before you start.
- **Unanswered mentions.** At the end of the day, list mentions you have not answered.
- **Weekly recap.** Fridays, draft a recap of decisions for your channel.

## Microsoft Teams with computer use and Telegram

The connection reads and posts messages. For calls and screen sharing, which live in the Teams app, [computer use](https://appubot.com/features/computer-use) lets the bot open the app and click to join or find a setting. Pair it with [Outlook](https://appubot.com/apps/outlook) for the meetings themselves.

On [Telegram](https://appubot.com/features/telegram) you can ask "anything I need to answer in Teams?" and approve a drafted reply with a tap, without opening the app.

## Is it private to use Microsoft Teams with a bot?

It connects to your own Microsoft account and sees the chats and channels it can see. Messages it reads go to its AI provider so it can summarise, so check your workplace's policy first. Turn Teams off per bot at any time.

Turn the app off for a bot at any time from its switch on the Apps page, and the bot loses access at once. You can also disconnect the app completely. See [connected apps](https://appubot.com/features/connected-apps) for how connections work.

## Questions

### Will my IT team allow it?

Many organisations control which apps connect to Microsoft 365. If sign-in is blocked, ask your admin.

### Can it read private chats?

It can read what your own account can. Turn Teams off for a bot that should not.

### Can it join meetings?

It does not attend meetings on its own. With computer use it can open the Teams app on your computer for you.

### Can it post without my approval?

Only on "Full access". On "Approve for me" it asks first.
