**The short answer:** An AppuBot bot connected to Notion can search your pages, read them, create new ones and update database rows. With "Approve for me" it asks before it creates or edits anything in your workspace. Searching and reading do not need approval, and you pick which bots may use it.

## What can a bot do in Notion?

Notion works best when someone keeps it current, and that is the part people skip. A bot can do the upkeep: filing notes, updating statuses and answering "where did we write that down?".

- **Search the workspace.** Find the page about the onboarding process or the decision from March.
- **Create pages.** Turn a conversation, a voice note or a forwarded email into a note with a title and tags.
- **Update databases.** Change a task's status, add a row to a project tracker or fill in a property.
- **Summarise.** Condense a long wiki page or a project's notes into a short brief.
- **Write meeting notes.** Make a page per meeting with attendees, decisions and action items.
- **Link things up.** Add a task to the right project and assign it to the person you name.

## What can you ask a bot to do in Notion?

These are the kinds of requests that work well. Type them in the app, or send them from your phone on Telegram.

- "Where did we write down the refund policy?"
- "Add a task to the Website project: update pricing page, due Friday."
- "Create a meeting note for today's call with the three action items I just listed."
- "Show every task assigned to me that is still open."
- "Summarise the Roadmap page for someone who has not read it."

## How do you connect Notion to AppuBot?

1. Open AppuBot on your computer.
2. Click **Connect apps** in the sidebar to open the Apps page.
3. Sign in once in your browser. This links AppuBot to your own account for connected apps, and you only do it the first time.
4. Find Notion on the page and connect it. Your browser opens Notion's own sign-in and consent screen, and you approve it there.
5. Switch Notion on for the bots that may use it. Each bot has its own switch, so a bot you did not choose never touches it.

_The same Apps page lists about 1,700 other apps. Connecting one app once makes it available to every bot you allow._

## Will it ask before it changes things in Notion?

Creating pages, editing text and changing database properties alter your workspace, where teammates may see the change, so on "Approve for me" the bot checks with you first. Searching and reading pages goes ahead without a question.

This follows the bot's permission choice. On "Approve for me" the bot asks before it acts in your account, and it waits as long as you take. Reads and searches go ahead without a question. On "Full access" it acts without asking, so keep that for bots you trust with the app. More in [Approvals](https://appubot.com/features/approvals).

## What should you know before relying on a bot in Notion?

A bot works through your own Notion account, so it can do what that account can do and nothing more. If a task fails, it tells you why in the chat instead of guessing.

Be specific about which project, folder, list or account you mean when you have several, and say once what the bot should never touch. You can save that in its [memory](https://appubot.com/features/memory) so it applies to every chat. AppuBot is free during early access and needs no AppuBot account, and you keep using the AI plan you already have.

## Which routines suit Notion?

Notion is a good fit for scheduled upkeep through [routines](https://appubot.com/features/routines).

- **Daily task list.** Weekday mornings, read your tasks due soon and send them on Telegram.
- **Weekly cleanup.** Fridays, flag tasks that have been in progress for over two weeks.
- **Inbox filing.** Daily, move new pages from the Inbox into their project.

## Notion with computer use and Telegram

The connection reads and writes pages and databases. For parts of Notion that need the screen, such as a layout or an embed, [computer use](https://appubot.com/features/computer-use) lets the bot work in the Notion app's window like a person would.

With [Telegram](https://appubot.com/features/telegram) you can message "add to Reading list: that article on pricing" from your phone, and the bot files it in the right database and confirms.

## Is it private to use Notion with a bot?

It connects to your own Notion account and sees what that account can open. The pages it reads go to its AI provider to answer you, as if you pasted them in. Switch Notion off for any bot that should not see your workspace.

Turn the app off for a bot at any time from its switch on the Apps page, and the bot loses access at once. You can also disconnect the app completely. See [connected apps](https://appubot.com/features/connected-apps) for how connections work.

## Questions

### Can a bot see every page in my workspace?

It can see what your Notion account and the connection allow. If a page is not reachable, tell the bot which one and check the page's access in Notion.

### Can it edit a database with many rows?

It can update the rows you name or describe. For large changes, on "Approve for me" you see the plan before it starts.

### Can it replace Notion AI?

They do different things. A bot can also work across your other apps and on your computer, and it keeps its own memory.

### Will it remember how my workspace is organised?

Yes, you can save notes about your structure in the bot's [memory](https://appubot.com/features/memory).
