**The short answer:** An AppuBot bot connected to Salesforce can look up accounts, contacts and opportunities, log activity, update fields and summarise a pipeline. With "Approve for me" it asks before it creates or changes a record. Searching and reading do not need approval.

## What can a bot do in Salesforce?

Salesforce rewards complete records and punishes the time they take. A bot can do the data entry and the lookup so you can spend the time on the customer.

- **Look up accounts.** Find an account, its contacts, open opportunities and recent activity.
- **Log activity.** Record a call or meeting summary against the right opportunity.
- **Update opportunities.** Change stage, close date or next step as you tell it.
- **Create leads and contacts.** Enter new people from an email or a photographed card.
- **Summarise the pipeline.** Report what is closing this month and what looks at risk.
- **Prepare for renewals.** Pull an account's history into a brief before a renewal call.

## What can you ask a bot to do in Salesforce?

These are the kinds of requests that work well. Type them in the app, or send them from your phone on Telegram.

- "Show me open opportunities for Northgate and their close dates."
- "Log a call on the Summit opportunity: budget confirmed, legal review next."
- "Which deals closing this month have had no activity in ten days?"
- "Create a lead for Jamie Ortiz at Brightline from this email."
- "Brief me on the Harmon account before my 2 pm."

## How do you connect Salesforce to AppuBot?

1. Open AppuBot on your computer.
2. Click **Connect apps** in the sidebar to open the Apps page.
3. Sign in once in your browser. This links AppuBot to your own account for connected apps, and you only do it the first time.
4. Find Salesforce on the page and connect it. Your browser opens Salesforce's own sign-in and consent screen, and you approve it there.
5. Switch Salesforce on for the bots that may use it. Each bot has its own switch, so a bot you did not choose never touches it.

_The same Apps page lists about 1,700 other apps. Connecting one app once makes it available to every bot you allow._

## Will it ask before it changes things in Salesforce?

Changing opportunities, creating leads and logging activity change records your forecast relies on, so on "Approve for me" the bot checks with you first. Looking up records goes ahead.

This follows the bot's permission choice. On "Approve for me" the bot asks before it acts in your account, and it waits as long as you take. Reads and searches go ahead without a question. On "Full access" it acts without asking, so keep that for bots you trust with the app. More in [Approvals](https://appubot.com/features/approvals).

## What should you know before relying on a bot in Salesforce?

A bot works through your own Salesforce account, so it can do what that account can do and nothing more. If a task fails, it tells you why in the chat instead of guessing.

Be specific about which project, folder, list or account you mean when you have several, and say once what the bot should never touch. You can save that in its [memory](https://appubot.com/features/memory) so it applies to every chat. AppuBot is free during early access and needs no AppuBot account, and you keep using the AI plan you already have.

## Which routines suit Salesforce?

Pipeline hygiene repeats every week, which makes it a good [routine](https://appubot.com/features/routines).

- **Monday pipeline.** List deals closing this month and flag the quiet ones.
- **Friday hygiene.** List opportunities missing a next step.
- **Renewal watch.** Monthly, list accounts with renewals coming up.

## Salesforce with computer use and Telegram

The connection works with records and fields. Salesforce has many screens, so [computer use](https://appubot.com/features/computer-use) can cover a layout or report that is only reachable by clicking in your browser, with the bot watching the page like you would.

On [Telegram](https://appubot.com/features/telegram) you can ask "what is the Harmon account's status?" before walking into a meeting, and get the answer in seconds.

## Is it private to use Salesforce with a bot?

It uses your own Salesforce account and the access your role gives you. Customer data it reads goes to its AI provider so it can answer, which your company may have rules about. Turn Salesforce off for a bot at any time.

Turn the app off for a bot at any time from its switch on the Apps page, and the bot loses access at once. You can also disconnect the app completely. See [connected apps](https://appubot.com/features/connected-apps) for how connections work.

## Questions

### Will my company allow this?

Salesforce orgs can restrict which apps connect. If sign-in is blocked, ask your Salesforce admin.

### Can it follow our custom objects?

It can work with what your account can see. Explain your terms once and keep them in its [memory](https://appubot.com/features/memory).

### Can it change my forecast?

It can update opportunity fields you tell it to, and on "Approve for me" you approve each change.

### Does it work alongside email?

Yes, with [Gmail](https://appubot.com/apps/gmail) or [Outlook](https://appubot.com/apps/outlook) connected a bot can pair an email with the record.
