**The short answer:** Meta Muse is a personal agent for everyday errands, like sending an email or making a purchase, that works in a browser on a secure cloud machine and talks to you in the Muse app, at muse.ai and on WhatsApp. It's free up to a limit, then $20 or $100 a month, and it's offered in the US and Canada. AppuBot is free during early access in any country, and its bots work on your own computer, in your desktop apps and files, with the AI plan you choose. Muse suits quick personal errands; AppuBot suits ongoing work.

## What is Meta Muse?

Muse is Meta's personal AI agent, launched in September 2026. It acts rather than only answering: it can send an email or make a purchase, asking you first for sensitive steps like those. It runs on **Muse Spark**, Meta's model, on a dedicated cloud machine Meta calls the Muse Secure VM, with its own browser. A second agent, the **Sentinel**, sits on the same machine and has to approve anything Muse sends to the internet. Meta says Muse conversations aren't shared with its ad systems.

Muse launched in the US and reached Canada about ten days later. Meta hasn't named the next countries.

## How do the prices compare?

TechCrunch reported that Muse is free to start (a card is needed), with **Power at $20 a month** and **Maximum at $100 a month** for more use, and a meter that tells you when free use runs out.

AppuBot has no usage meter of its own: it is free during early access, and your bots use an AI plan you already have, such as [Claude](https://appubot.com/agents/claude-code) or [ChatGPT through Codex](https://appubot.com/agents/codex). If you already pay for one of those, there is nothing new to buy.

## Cloud browser or your own computer?

Muse's browser lives on Meta's machine, so it reaches websites and the services you connect. It can't open the apps on your computer or the files on your disk.

AppuBot's bots work where your work already is. [Computer use](https://appubot.com/features/computer-use) lets a bot open any app on your Mac, PC or Linux machine, read the window and click, type and scroll in it, many steps per turn. Your files, logins and local network are already there, and with [connected apps](https://appubot.com/features/connected-apps) a bot also works in Gmail, Google Sheets, Notion, Slack and about 1,700 others you sign in to once.

## Phone: WhatsApp or Telegram?

Muse is very phone-friendly: an app for iPhone and Android, the web at muse.ai, and WhatsApp, where chatting works like messaging a person. That's the easiest setup of any agent here.

AppuBot bots answer on [Telegram](https://appubot.com/features/telegram), one Telegram bot per AppuBot bot, with photos, files and voice notes both ways. Voice notes are heard and answered by voice, and the [speech runs on your computer](https://appubot.com/features/voice), so the audio isn't sent anywhere. Your computer has to be on.

## Who should pick which?

- **Pick Muse** if you live in the US or Canada, want one helper for personal errands from your phone or WhatsApp, and like a free start with nothing to install.
- **Pick AppuBot** if you live elsewhere, want bots for work (bookkeeping, inboxes, research, reports) in your own apps, want to choose the AI, or want several bots with their own jobs and [routines](https://appubot.com/features/routines).
