What is OpenCode?
OpenCode calls itself the open source AI coding agent. It runs in the terminal, in code editors and in a desktop app of its own, and works with more than 75 AI providers, including local models, through one interface.
That flexibility is the reason to use it in AppuBot: one agent, any model you can reach. The bot gets a name, a job and memory; OpenCode brings the models.
Which plan does OpenCode use?
Whichever you connect in OpenCode. Its docs describe signing in with GitHub Copilot or a ChatGPT Plus/Pro account, using API keys for other providers, and two optional plans of OpenCode's own: Zen, pay-as-you-go access to models the OpenCode team has tested, and Go, a subscription to open coding models at $10 a month (Go Plus $40).
One thing to know: OpenCode's docs say Anthropic doesn't allow Claude Pro or Max subscriptions in OpenCode. If you have a Claude plan, use Claude Code in AppuBot for it.
How do I set up OpenCode in AppuBot?
- Download AppuBot and open it.
- Install OpenCode (Settings › Agents shows the installer when it's missing).
- Open OpenCode once and connect the providers you want, for example your ChatGPT or Copilot account.
- AppuBot finds OpenCode and lists it as ready. Pick it for a bot; the model list shows what you connected.
- Choose "Approve for me" or "Full access" for that bot.
AppuBot checks for new OpenCode versions and can update it for you.
