What is xAI's Grok agent?
Grok Build is xAI's coding agent, which you run from the terminal. xAI opened it as an early beta in May 2026 for SuperGrok and X Premium+ subscribers. It plans before it acts, can hand parts of a job to helpers that work in parallel, and signs in with your xAI account in the browser.
xAI also has Grok Bot, a separate agent product. In AppuBot, Grok runs here, on your own computer, with your own apps and files. See AppuBot vs Grok Bot for the side-by-side.
Which Grok plan does it use?
Your xAI account's. At launch, Grok Build was in beta for SuperGrok and X Premium+ subscribers; xAI may change who gets it, so check xAI's own pages for your plan. Your bots' work counts toward that account's usage.
AppuBot's Settings › Usage reads Grok's own records on this computer and shows how much it was used, including the cost xAI reports.
How do I set up Grok in AppuBot?
- Download AppuBot and open it.
- Install xAI's Grok Build agent with xAI's installer (Settings › Agents shows it when it's missing).
- Sign in once with your xAI account; it opens your browser.
- AppuBot finds Grok and lists it as ready. Pick it for a bot and choose a model.
- Choose "Approve for me" or "Full access" for that bot.
